    Flake Tobacco

Rub it out or cube cut it for me, I’ve tried folding and stuffing but it never works out for me.

    Becoming A Codger

Very true! At 25 I constantly have a pipe in my mouth and complain about everything :ROFLMAO:

Pipe Rotation; Yes, No, Maybe So?

I don't believe in resting my pipes. I smoked the same one for years when I was at work, it was always lit over an 8 hour day, and nothing bad happened. I put 3 bowls through my new Kaywoodie this morning, and it'll probably get another 4 tomorrow when I'm putting together my new engine.

High-End Pipes - Do They Improve the Smoking Experience?

This happened with a Posella that I bought years ago when I worked at Park Lane Tobacconist. Even with the discount, it was well over the $400 mark in 2013 and it just sat in its box unsmoked until I sold it in 2016. Most of my pipes are in the 100-200 range and smoke great, so I don't think I'm...

High-End Pipes - Do They Improve the Smoking Experience?

I find that after the $100 price point, the smoking qualities sort of plateau and you get more refined looks. My old GBD's that I paid $20-$40 for smoke as well as my Radices and Tinskys.

    Becoming A Codger

I feel the same way sometimes, I'm selling off a ton of my higher end blends since I find myself to enjoy captain black, Carter hall, and Prince Albert. Funny how tastes change.

    Pipe Smoking and Eye Irritation

Yeah, I notice it if I’m using one of my nose warmers, but any pipe where the bowl is more than 5 inches out is generally fine

    Ghost Options

Salt and alcohol. Fill the bowl with kosher salt, and saturate with a higher proof alcohol. I used to use 151 rum but now I prefer something less... alcoholic. A little bourbon does a good job for me, or a decent rum.

Woohoo. I Think I've Figured It Out

yup, I use my index finger for it. I always know when it’s just right that way.

    Peterson Irish Flake

I love my tins of Irish flake, I wish they still packaged it in the square tins though.

    Any Good Summer Blend Recommendations?

I’ve through about trying Salty Dogs but is it worth the price compared to other plugs? Seems like a pricey one.

    Any Good Summer Blend Recommendations?

I’m a fan of orlik golden sliced and Peterson 3p in the summer. 2 great, smooth blends. I’ve also been making my own navy plugs lately, 100% va’s cases with aged rum and a touch of honey, and I find these a fantastic summer smoke as well, as long as they are properly dried out. The plug below is...

    Homemade Latakia Plug

I did something similar with a plug I made, I left it out in the sun for a few weeks and it is dense like 3Ps plug. Gave it a turn Of the clamp every day and it turned out amazing.
