High Grade Pipe with Filter...Will It Smoke Well Without It?

I was given a Peterson as a gift; it came with a filter. Didn't like how the filter restricted the draw so I took it out. Now it smokes the same as the others. Which makes sense; the hole in the bowl is still the same size.

Myself, 6 horses and a dog reside on my 21ac in central Alberta. Property is partially forest and minutes from the mountains. Love it!

I'm a newbie and was wondering how many bowls a day do you smoke?

Anywhere from 2 bowls / day to 2 bowls every week. Varies with site, season and what projects are on the go.

What's Your Favorite Pipe Smoking Movie?

Someone beat me to it but Shackleton is a great show, not only for the history but also pipe smoking practically nonstop.

    Halloween

OK, some of those ideas had me laughing pretty hard! Hmmm...scantily clad dames, a beaver in one hand and a pipe in the other. With a wizard's hat and axe slung over my shoulder. That should do it.

    Halloween

Halloween is coming up. Friends a few miles down the road usually host a party. Any good costume ideas? Obviously must involve a pipe!

    Where do you live?

West of Red Deer, AB. And it's anything but frozen here right now...not used to this heat!

Alberta Pipe Smokers - Roll Call

It's not a problem. This is the red neck capitol LOL! They have an outdoor patio and people do smoke out there. Regardless, my farm is 2 minutes away, BYOB is cheaper and pipes definitely allowed. I posted another thread on a get together at my place for a BBQ as well, sometime this summer.

Anyone up for a BBQ (in central AB)

Hey rockymtn, that would be great. It's about an hour from the north end of Calgary to here. I'll have to find that thread, I do recall it. I know there were a couple guys in Red Deer too. Monty55: it feels hot and humid here (to me!) right now...just looking at Houston weather and it says...

Anyone up for a BBQ (in central AB)

Great weather is finally here and I need a break from rebuilding this farm. Time for a bbq, campfire, etc! Have some horses if anyone's into riding. Lots of room for camping if you get into the beverages! I know there are lots of Albertans on the site, but anyone is welcome. Charter a plane...

    Moving

Speaking of being organized and moving...I recently 'really' rented my city house out, so I had to get all my remaining belongings out of there. I haven't lived there in 3 years. I thought I was being organized. Everything was going into labeled boxes and into the trailer. But it seems like...
