    The Southern Fried Pipe Show

This was my first event as well and I have to say it was a great time. Everyone was down to earth and approachable, there were good conversations and good laughs all around. The pre-party, show, after-party and hangover event at Uptown's were all enjoyable times with convenient locations and...

    West Central Indiana Pipers

It sounds like The Pipe Puffer is our best option to start. I can make it Friday after 3:30 but I realize that is pretty short notice for everyone. I will be out of town next week checking out the Southern Fried Pipe Show in Nashville. I'm not sure what my schedule looks after that as things are...

    West Central Indiana Pipers

Fridays would typically work for me, I work days M-F with occasional weekends. As far as a smoking friendly location goes The Pipe Puffer in Greenwood comes to mind. It would be fine for a small group and as long as we purchased some of their wares. I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few guys hanging...

J.T. Cooke (Part 2) on Radio Show of 9/2/2014

I recently got finished listening to all of the previous shows and am now looking forward to staying current with the podcast. It's too bad they are only done weekly but I understand everyone's hectic schedules, ahh the joys of modern life. I really enjoyed the interviews with J.T. He has quite...

    West Central Indiana Pipers

It sounds like there is at least some interest. Does anyone have a preference or suggestions on a possible time and or location? It sounds like possibly the greater Indianapolis area would work out the best.

    West Central Indiana Pipers

I'm in Crawfordsville, and I would be willing to travel a bit myself. A monthly roving/roaming meet-up could be fun.

    West Central Indiana Pipers

I am curious whether there are any west central Indiana members interested in putting together an informal club of sorts, or if there are even any forum members in my area. I only know one other pipe enthusiast in my area and thought I would put out some feelers here on the forums for like...

    Your Favorite Baccy Label?

+1 on the Frog Morton labels, Cellar is far and away my favorite of the lot. (Label and tobacco)

Smoking My Teaford Jet Air Pipe

I bought one, it arrived today. The box was intact and the pipe was fine but instead of looking like the photos mine showed up with a bulldog/rhodesian style bowl. I'm not sure why, but I was a little disappointed.

Smoking My Teaford Jet Air Pipe

When I was in high school a gent I worked for smoked these. He had 4 or 5 in rotation, it was the only pipe he would smoke. He used to tell stories about Ernie, he was apparently quite the tinkerer, always working on the odd idea here and there. I may just have to pick one up for nostalgia's sake.

    Kaywoodie Collection (Pictures)

Most impressive, sir, I really enjoyed the pics of your collection. I have one Kaywoodie and one old kbb in my collection. The little kbb is called The Swiss and is a fine little smoker. My Kaywoodie sounds like it might be one of your "grail" pipes, a 4 digit bent rhodesian with 4 hole stinger...

    Mysteriously Cracking Meerschaums

As near as I can tell I have been doing everything "right". No cake build-up, not smoking hot, no hard knocks, no outdoor use in the winter, my only conclusion must be these were low-end "tourist" pipes. My one remaining meer is an older early 20th century estate. This last pipe has been smoked...

    Mysteriously Cracking Meerschaums

The weather here is nice and balmy now. The churchwarden gave way in cool not cold weather, so after some reading up on things I decided my meers were for warm weather use only. I really don't smoke hot, in fact the bowl never gets warm enough to cause any discomfort when held to the cheek...

    Mysteriously Cracking Meerschaums

I have a question for those more experienced with meerschaum pipes than myself. Have any of you experienced problems with cracking? I have now had 2 meerschaum pipes meet their end with severe cracks while smoking. The first was an admittedly low quality churchwarden that cracked at the shank...
