I'd like a good intro in to strong Burley blends. Is Orlik dark strong Kentucky
I am not familiar with the Orlik blends at all but my tastes are similar to what you are after, although Burley can be subtly sweet. A couple of blends I would send you to are MacBaren Old Dark Fired and GLP Cumberland and GLP Jacknife plug.- dhizzy

Hey Cosmic, why don't you tell us how you really feel? 8O While they do have many aromatic blends that I generally steer clear of; if I were going to smoke an aromatic, I'd get it from them. Their blends are readily available at a B&M near me and IMO are well executed. I don't know if I agree...- dhizzy

Does anyone ever wonder why MacBaren only has one Perique blend; HH Acadian Perique? It is one of my favorite blends and I think that they could do another blend or two. MacBaren Coin Cut Blend with Virginia, Dark Fired and Perique?
I know of one MacBaren blend with Perique and that is HH Acadian Perique. I can't speak to other blends that they manufacture and give a different name. I've often wondered why they don't do a few more Perique blends. Perhaps its a more difficult leaf for them to get their hands on?- dhizzy

Thanksgiving Day Mixture
I just checked their website and its on there. I will run it by the wife tomorrow and see if I can pick it up for Thanksgiving which is one of my favorite holidays. -

The Benefits of Slow Smoking
Seconded. For me, less is more when it comes to pipe smoking. If I'm in a rush or at work, the pipe is a no-go. it is the one time a day that I get to relax and having a pipe while doing just about anything besides reading, listening to music or watching television is out of the question.- dhizzy
