Charatan Select with 4 metal discs inlaid in shank?
The ring around the shank is the same material as the discs. I did as good a comparison of the wood on both sides of the ring and disc adornment, and I am pretty convinced it is from the same block of briar. The pipe dates from between 1958 and 1965. I verified that with a pretty respected pipe... -

Are there any cigars that come close to the taste of pipe tobacco?
Reminds me that years ago, there were "Half and Half" filter tipped cigars. Basically like a cigarette. Knew a lady who smoked them exclusively. Got me curious if those are still made. A quick search makes me think they are a thing of the past. They were good, for what they were.- danno

Solani's Aged Burley Flake
Def the best plain Burley I have tried. Nutty and dare I say, a nice underlying creamy sweetness. Another plus is that Solani is not full of timber.- danno

Charatan Select with 4 metal discs inlaid in shank?
I saw a Charatan Select today. It had 4 discs, 1 on each side, and one on top and bottom. I had never seen it before, and was wondering if it is a repair, or if Charatan actually made any pipes like that. Anybody have any ideas? -

What pipe/tobacco Youtube channel do you like?
Dighsx is one of my favorites. He is intelligent, and funny as hell. The dagners, onemansmoke, and Mknchg are all great. I think that any mention of great youtube pipe presenters has to include "DailyPuffer" and "ThomasiusPufendorff"- danno

My First Meer
Nice Pipe. As far as I know, I am on the list to get one. Can't wait, as I love the purity of flavors I get from a Meer. Especially with VAs. When I smoke something like SG FVF in a meer, the sweetness really sings. Glad to hear production is coming along!
