Challenging Traditional Thoughts on Creating Cake

You are not challenging anything; traditional way to break in a pipe is to smoke either half full bowls first or 1/3 full for a number of bowls followed by 2/3 for some more and finally smoking full bowls.

    Price Versus Perfection

Yeah the price doesn't matter much for me either; it's having to order tobacco from the other side of the pond. No pipe tobacco is being imported into the country as far as I know so I can only buy aromatics under the counter, online sales are illegal and pretty much no one in EU will ship to...

    Price Versus Perfection

If money and/or accessibility is a concern like me and say you smoke about 5-7 bowls a day like me; get a cheap, bulk blend you actually like to smoke but comes without any whistles or bells, just a real solid smoke like PS Balkan Supreme. Smoke that 3-5 times a day and back it up with 2 bowls...

    School Me On Clay Pipes

Yeah they have but it's too awkward to try and hold the pipe like that. Holding the stem is just easier and more comfortable.

    Fake Meerschaum

It's probably just an inferior quality block or possibly pressed. I think even the Chinese ain't got any fake meer. Yet.

    School Me On Clay Pipes

Yes of course sean, I was talking about one-piece clay pipes. I have never tried a softie bit with a clay though, that might let you clench. I never use that thing with my briars either though.

    School Me On Clay Pipes

Oh and I should add they are not clenchers; their stem just doesn't work like that.

    School Me On Clay Pipes

Pro: Cheap, doesn't need break-in period, almost zero maintenance, high porosity, doesn't alter the taste like a briar does ( I am told they have pretty much the same characteristics as meers; don't have a meer so can't comment on that. Con: Gets too hot (to the point you can not hold the bowl...
