Gotta say, it's difficult to fit this back into my routine. I miss the good people here. And of course, women and idiots keeping me from valuable pipe smoking/forum time. How dare they? Struggling to make the time!
If you ever need one opened I am a state away :) If you buy a lot that are old and have what's called warded locks (like a skeleton key is used in) you may be interested in picking up a set of warded picks. Work similar to a skeleton key, and very easy to use.
Not that I know of. It's been claimed (but likely false) I have tried to forcibly break into mine....yea...not happening. I tried. While you could cut it...would be extremely hard, and a criminal would have a huge signature and likely get spotted. With these it's better to hit the chain/door. 15...
Looks dutch in origin...which don't quote me on that; just a thought. It can be extremely difficult to get a back story on a pipe with no markings. I hope someone chimes in with more info on it. More pictures always help!
It is a Hialeah marked Algerian Briar, and France on the stem. GREAT smoking pipe. I can't remember for sure but I think it was under $20 at an antique store, unsmoked. It's definitely got style.

I have recently begun another hobby, we'll see where it goes. While it has impacted the amount of money spent on pipes/tobacco it pairs with it nicely. I enjoy sitting back with a pipe, working with a lock and doing something tedious. Was just curious if there were any other members here...
