A Nic-bomb replacement for Dunhill Nightcap

Thanks for the info Perdurabo. I'll acquire some in the near future and give it a go. Thought you would be more of a Perique & Rum man! :D

    Hi, all

PM me your address and I'll send you some small samples of various tobaccos, although I don't keep either of those particular blends. If you have transport, the Glossop Pipe Club meets this Sunday at The Globe Inn, Glossop. I can't make it as I'm taking my daughter back to University, but...

A Nic-bomb replacement for Dunhill Nightcap

I don't know if it is available in the U.S. but Charatan Eventide is marketed as being similar to Nightcap. I have not tried it so cannot comment from personal experience, but the chaps over here have so far found the Charatan tobaccos to be a fair replacement of the Dunhill blends. The jury is...

    Hi, all

Judcasper, No mate, never worked in catering. A fellow piper was taking the piss out of my preference for bents. Give Squadron Leader or Commonwealth Mixture a try. If that's a Mr Brog pipe you have, they are OK but just be careful of the tenon - they have a habit of breaking. A MM cob is...

Ken Barnes Returns To Finding The Grain - Pix Heavy

Good effort Ken. I particularly like Cumberland stems and they compliment the grain of the bowls beautifully.

My First Tin of St. Bruno Flake.

We certainly do! But it's also an old public school term for a younger boy whom one coerces into doing all the necessary menial tasks to live comfortably whilst boarding, plus any other tasks for the amusement of one's fellows. That particular phrase was coined by a Welshman, an altogether more...

    Hi, all

Get yourself some decent pipe tobacco - plenty of good tobacconist online in the UK. I'd start off with an English blend if your already enjoying cigar tobacco, but there is more choice than you'll have time to smoke.

There is a step by step guide on here somewhere David on how to upload your pics. As I'm a rare visitor these days, I can't remember where to find the guide!

    New Rack (and some Questions)

I prefer the racks with a "slot" rather than a hole for the stem as it is much easier to take pipe of any shape in and out. However, it is also much easier to end up with your pipes on the deck if accidentally knocked. I am no wood expert but I do have a similar looking rack which is made of...

    Need help with Barling Meerschaum

I had a bent Barling meer which i bought new in the late 1980's. Similar in style to the one above (but bent of course) and it smoked superbly. Like a fool, I gave up smoking a pipe for period of time and threw it away. :(

How Long Does Your Bowl Last

A Peterson 312 (P-lip) with SG Balkan Flake will last well over 2.5 hours when breath smoking. There will be the odd re-light but the pipe isn't put down or left unsmoked for any longer than a minute or so. This is the length of time it takes me to drive from my home near Nottingham to North...

    Barling's 958 Stem

"Many" Thanks! Any idea of the date range for the 958 shape production Sablebrush? I can't find it in any of the copies of the catalogues I have seen online.
