P&C has Victor Pipes (Erik Nording Grandson)

I know Erik Nording has a Son named Knute but Erik told Me He moved to Switzerland and I've never heard of a Grandson that grew up and made any pipes. I just got some Victor pipes in that My friend commissioned from Erik and my friend said Erik made them.

    Dansk National pipe

There has been a lot of discussion about Preben Holm and His pipes marked IIS, and recently Pipedia is claiming these pipes were made by Karl Erik and IIS was used because of a lack of space. Later these pipes were marked with KE for Karl Erik. I suspect what really happened is Karl Erik was...

Pipe Cleaner Stuck in Short Curved Bit

I think I'll see if Wifey has any bleach. I'd guess the only damage might be to the white lettering that says "hand cut" since the bit itself is made of lucite (I think) Bleach is something that might not be here because Wifey has been on a totally non-toxic/organic/green campaign for the...

Pipe Cleaner Stuck in Short Curved Bit

A new bit would seriously downgrade the pipe. It has the Armellini pearl dot plus it says "Hand Cut" on the bit in white letters. The pros I've seen advertised said they weren't responsible for damages to lucite bits. I think I paid around $300 for this 28 years ago, so I'd hate to have an...

    What would've really happened?

I lost a pipe last summer in the garden and found it 3 months later. It had turned gray from all the rains and sunlight. I treated it w/ some olive oil after it dried thoroughly, buffed it and it looked sorta okay, but later I noticed it had many small cracks in the wood. More importantly...

Pipe Cleaner Stuck in Short Curved Bit

I bought this from a pipe shop owner who claimed Mauro made it just for him at a time in the 70's which he claimed was before Mauro made freehand pipes. It's stamped Mauro Armellini Symposeum and it's a hand made freehand. The bit says "Hand Cut"

    Plugged pipe

A totally plugged pipe is worthless so I wasn't risking much. I had another old art deco pipe that was plugged in the shank. The bit unscrewed and left a threaded part sticking out of the shank that had the air hole in the middle of it. I tried drilling that out and I could never get through...

    Moisture problems?

I have a buddy that puts his Boswell blends in a frying pan and carefully cooks out the excess moisture. He says that works great ... for him.

    PIipe Cleaner question

I just bought a box of Zen Bristle cotton pipe cleaners from Amazon for $35 delivered. That was 48 bundles of 44 cleaners per bundle. That's 2112 cleaners for 1.66 cents each.

    FREE LIGHTER!!!

Another possibility is customs. I just shipped a Castello pipe and a kleen reem to a guy in Italy. I looked at the customs restrictions and Italy won't allow lighters or anything that has leather in it along with 450 other things. I guess Italy knows how to protect their "Made in Italy"...

    Tobacco pouches

I keep my tobacco in a large plastic bag, I buy it 5# at a time. That lasts me 3 Months and doesn't dry out. I have to fill my pouch every day so I've never noticed anything drying out. I use a leather pouch w/ a vinyl lining made by Rea in Holt Florida, those pouches are gorgeous and the...

To Flip or Not To Flip

I detach the bit and run a pipe cleaner through it first, I go in through the tenon then when it's coming out the button I grab it and pull it side to side, then flip it and do the shank. Then I take another pipe cleaner and double it to scrub the inside of the shank better, then swab the...

Pipe Cleaner Stuck in Short Curved Bit

27 years ago I bought a gorgeous Mauro Armellini freehand. After smoking it a time or two I tried a pipe cleaner. I got it through the short curved hand cut lucite bit, but it wouldn't come out. It eventually broke off on both ends of the bit. Many years later I soaked it in dish soap and...
