I love the short plastic bit they put on the Morgan, Eaton, Pony Express, etc. It’s wide and thin with extra material at the sides of the bite zone, so it’s comfortable and you won’t bite through it.

I used the Elmer's wood glue only because it was closest in the cabinet.

I have eight or ten MM cobs covering the full range of sizes and shapes, but I still think it's hard to beat the Virginia Planter with its reed stem for all-around sheer smoking performance and pleasure. Great easy draw, big chamber, light as can be, and (though the price has gone up to $20 from the $16 I paid last year), inexpensive. I love mine.
