Velvet in a stereotypical square panel carved Marxman $5 grade Jumbo.
No pipe smoked better than a Marxman made at 27 West 24 St. NYC and few were as dog turd ugly.
This I think was an earlier pipe with really intricate hand carving and no fills.

Started my Easter off right with coffee and a bowl of Boswell’s English Biscuit after deep cleaning my pipes. I enjoyed this bowl in my first pipe a MM country gentleman. Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
