I have a small pipe from my father's collection that I would like to restore, starting with removal and replacement of the stem. I have tried soaking it in 91% ethanol (alcohol), freezing, lightly prying, and unscrewing, all to no avail.
It appears to be "Yellow Bole" brand, from the 1960s as far as I know, imported briar. There's a small yellow/gold circle on the top of the stem. Hopefully the pictures help tell the story.
Could someone please tell me what I need to do to get the stem off, please?
Thanks!
