Any thoughts on which you like best and why--Corona "Old Boy" or Kiribi?

Have both, broke both, sent back for repair (used AND DROPPED A LOT LOL!).

I like the Kiribi Tomo better for 3 reasons:
1. It's got an opening without a cover (yeah--I know I could just leave the screw cap off the Corona :)
2. It's got a tamper and poker included
3. It's shorter (and SP tells me the two hold about the same butane)

I’ve dropped my Old Boy several times with no ill effects — just lucky I guess. Both lighters will get the job done, I prefer my Old Boy as the build/fit/finish seem a step up from my Kiribi

I'm using Corona Laurel (newboy).
I've been using it for about two years, and I've never had any problems.
It's extremely durable and its reliability is unwavering.
Corona will always accept repairs, so I will use it.
Since I live in Japan, Japanese manufacturers are very encouraging.
Corona is also good at engraving technology and its appearance is beautiful.

Yes, you're quite right, STP. Thanks for reminding me! I'm almost embarrassed to confess that sometimes I forget it's there LOL! It's nice tamper and it works well to either adjust the flame height (poker end) or to remove or tighten the valve cover screw (tamper end). I'm amazed at how much I forget! :))))

So is the Kirbi is repairable out of warranty?
I fu#&ed up the Kiribi beyond repair, voiding the warranty (I learned after sending 'em both back), by bending the flint tube when I dropped it on concrete (a bunch)! Most recently, I tried straightening things out with needle nosed pliers -- snapping off the gas needle/pipe, too! LOL When the gas pipe snapped off, I first thought--"ok, now the flame will just come out the end!" LOL Alas, no flame but happily I didn't end up setting my beard/whiskers on fire! LOL :)) I'm a klutz!
kindly,
mike
