It won't take much! Cobs are America's greatest gift to pipe smoking. I have many and I mud them with hickory fireplace ash ground in a mortar and pestle. Ismoke briars too, but cobs remind me of the America of Mark Twain.
I smoke them with the stock plastic stems. Putting a Forever stem on a 12 dollar pipe is about as appealing as Nancy Pelosi in a bikini.
Nice. I need to pick up a cob pipe. I had one years ago, but it was a bit worn.
I love my briars but smoke cobs more than anything, they just smoke the way I want a pipe to smoke. I think they really deliver great flavors, especially after those first few smokes (which are great in their own way!) Enjoy!

Same here. I have 72 pipes in my stable and 30 are cobs. I still have my first cobs and I still smoke them. A country gent and a legend. A lot of miles on those pipes.
If they release the reverse calabash again, grab one. You won't be disappointed.
