What is the absolute best non aro pipe tobaccos?
What is in the realm of solani 656 and ashton artisan but 10x better?
I'd especially appreciate a comment from JimInks.
Thanks for the discussion. :)

I cannot even tell you objectively what I like. I like most tobacco and every time you ask, you will get a different answer. Having said that, here are a few I like a lot!
  1. Virginia Family - Reiner Long Golden Flake (Blend #71), HU Director’s Cut, Rattray’s Hal O’ The Wynd, Capstan Blue. I have cellared Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake after smoking a bowl, and I think it will get added to this hall of fame later. McClelland Blackwoods Flake also has a honorary mention, as I thoroughly enjoyed one tin I had in my cellar
  2. English / Balkan - Dunhill London Mixture, Smokers Haven Our Best Blend, Esoterica Margate, Dunhill/Peterson Nightcap, Bengal Slices, Germain’s King Charles Smoking Mixture
  3. Oriental Forward - Cornell & Diehl Rajah’s Court, GL Pease Cairo, Daughters & Ryan Ramback
  4. Semois - Tabac Manil La Brumeuse
  5. Lakeland- Samuel Gawith Grousemoor, Gawith Hoggarth & Co Bob’s Chocolate Flake, Coniston Cut Plug
  6. High Nicotine Blends - Macbaren HH Rustica, Gawith Hoggarth & Co Dark Flake
  7. Burley - Five Brothers, Cornell & Diehl Old Joe Krantz
  8. Aromatic- Erinmore, Rattray’s Exotic Passion
  9. Cigar Leaf - Warped Cloud Hopper
  10. Experimental Blends - Russ Ouellette Acadian Gold

I have not had Ashton Artisan but I have had Solani 656 and it is the pinnacle of Burley based IMHO. Ergo, there is no such thing as 100X better.

Perhaps Esoterica Stonehaven? Good luck with that.... puffy

Oh, and welcome to the Forum.
