Like many of you who are stuck at home, I've been doing a bit of organizing and getting back to doing some pipe restorations that I otherwise wouldn't have much time for.

I'll sometimes buy a "lot" of many pipes because I'm interested in one of them, without much regard for whatever else might come in the basket. I was putting together these pipes, considering donating them or selling them on eBay since they're not a priority in terms of restoration (I've got another 17 waiting for attention).

This pipe here caught my attention. I had no idea what it was until I looked it up this morning. It's a first-generation Linkman's Dr. Grabow. The stampings are identical to the one on Pipephil (with the exception of the 4-digit model number). Propeller logo on the stem, 'Pat.No., 1896800,' and "De Luxe" over "Bruyere."

I was a neat find. A little bit beat up--just a little--but still very cool.1.jpg2.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

I have a Linkman Hollycourt Special, Patent No. 2073663, shape No. 7023.
That's not a silver ring if it's like mine. That is a metal threaded device attached to the mortise so the metal stinger can screw into the shank.

Mine is Patent No. 1896800, shape 9700. The silver ring is on top of the shank, not the band.
