Still no date discovered for this pipe if any of you GBD experts can lend a hand? But understand that this can be an impossible task with some makes.

In regards to the smoke...best bowl of bookshop I have had to date. Not sure if this is due to the larger chamber, meer lining or the euphoria of a fresh restoration but either way I am stoked

Still trying to date her...but fun fact. I was smoking her today outside on the lawn and with the angle of the sun I saw a COM marking that I hadn’t seen before.

the right hand side of the shank says something like

St. Claude
“Maison de la Pipe”
Le Mans

Any pointers??

Maison de la Pipe sounds like a tobacconist. Maybe this was a second line stamped specifically for this shop?
I know Le Mans is famous for the race, and in quite a different part of Le Hexagone to st. Claude....there does appear to be a ‘Le St Claude’ tobacconist in Le Mans too. Maybe you are right and the pipe was made for this shop as part of the tourist market? Otherwise it displays all of the usual GBD markings and brass rondule (??)
