I'm seeing a lot of Bones pipes online lately. To those who have acquired them-What do you think? I like the modern lines and shapes that I have seen.

A fine pipe for $45! I wouldn’t pay any more for them than that. The bits are chunky, but these pipes are easily customizable and do just fine as they come. Ive got three: A billiard, an oval-shanked brandy, and a strawberry briar bent egg.
They look slightly appealing, but for the same price I'd rather grab a Ropp Etudiant.
I have two, they are fantastic little burner pipes. They will have some flaws, pits on occasion, etc. but most have a decent blast and are well constructed. It is also fun to watch the natural patina develop over time. For $45 you'd be hard pressed to find a better briar out there, outside of the estate market.
Lovely heavy-duty smokers. Hard to ghost too, in my experience.

I own 5 of them, and I like them alright. I wish I would have bought fewer of them and more from lines like Rossi Vittoria, which are around the same price.
They were my first pipes. Still have 6 of them. Crack the bottom of chamber on 4 of them. Probably due to keep torching the pipe to burn the last of the tobacco. Still smoke fine. Kept them around for aromatics and OTC.
They look pretty junky but chunky.

They're a fine option for what they are. I own three, two of which get smoked regularly.
Buy one if you're looking for a no-frills briar and don't care about aesthetics or high-grade engineering.

I have a Bones Bulldog which I could take or leave. I also have a stubby 20 which I really like. It has a large chamber and clenches perfectly, rested below the lip.
sounds like everyone's opinion on their bones (don't take that out of context...)is that the pipe is precisely what it is advertised as nothing more nothing less. It sounds like it's the perfect camping pipe you won't be that sad when a Grizzly bear wearing a hat and tie combo steals it from you.
Yup, good pipes for the money but expect some fills and no frills.
Rossi and Ropp and Falcons all fill the same niche, just a more finished version.
The Bones have two points I appreciate: wide open draw and watching the natural patina development.
If a more traditional finished pipe is what you’re after, one of the other options might suit you better.
