The Pipes Magazine Radio Show – Episode 222

Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Pipe Maker Richard Lawton. Richard started his career as a chef traveling the world, cooking on yachts for the rich and famous. Back in the 1970s, his fiancée bought him a pipe and a robe because she though he looked like Hugh Hefner, and he’s never turned back. He made his first pipe 14-years ago, but just started selling them about 2-years ago. In "Pipe Parts" we have a few more holiday gift ideas for pipe smokers, and an update on the FDA situation. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by,, Missouri Meerschaum, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • Great Googly Moogly! It’s Sunday morn, and nobody has yet to comment on this fun conversation with Richard? I don’t know about your other listeners, but I sure enjoyed his fascinating tales, a wonderful tribute to Greg Lake (one of my favorite Christmas songs), and a spot-on shout-out to our intrepid small business purveyors of tobacco products.
I just got back from our Chicago Pipe Club Holiday party at 8 To 8 Cigars, in Villa Park. I purchase almost all my pipe, tobacco and cigar needs from Mike Khalil. If he doesn’t have it in stock, he orders it for me. I’m doing my part.
Pipe Folk! Support your Brick & Mortar people!
Brian, thanks for another great show.
