This is another blend from Samuel Gawith that is offered in both tin and bulk. However, I have not smoked this blend from the tinned version, only the bulk. So I can not comment on the differences in the two. But if it is anything like the other SG offerings, there is probably little or no difference between the two.
The tin aroma is a strong but sweet tobacco smell with a little smokiness mixed in and a tang in the nose. The moisture level is a little on the high side and letting it dry a little wouldn’t hurt. I prepared the flakes (Fig.1) by folding them in half and fully rubbing them out (Fig. 2). I loaded the pipe with a gravity fill and, using very light pressure, pushed the tobacco down in the bowl with my thumb to level it off.
