In the tin aroma of this blend I am picking up on vanilla, bourbon, a very slight twang to the nose, and a smell that reminds me a lot of cherry cordials. I know that there is no cherry flavor or anything cherry in this blend, I am just telling you what it smells like to me. The vanilla was the predominate aroma. I picked up no scent of baked apples at all. The tin aroma is very Christmassy and reminds me of the Holiday Season. I like it a lot! The moisture content is a little on the moist side and some drying time would help out quite a bit. Read the rest of this entry »

Scotty’s Bulk Blends are another brand of house blends from Pipesandcigars.com. This blend is called Milk & Honey and is only available in bulk. I am not picking up on any discernable aromas from the pouch. It is just a sweet smelling Cavendish blend. The moisture level is just about perfect for smoking. However, a little drying time wouldn’t hurt. I filled the pipe using my two step packing method and proceeded to the charring light.
On the charring light I picked up on a very light hint of vanilla and then there was nothing else really there. There was no vanilla in the aroma, just a hint in the flavor. I settled in for the smoke hoping that this blend would get better tasting as I smoked. Read the rest of this entry »

When I opened this tin I was greeted by a strong yet nice sweet aroma of Amaretto and, to me, some other smells. I also picked up some slight hints of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. I don’t know if my nose was breaking down the aroma or my nose was just breaking down and picking up smells that were not there. The moisture level was a little on the damp side, as it is with most aromatics. And just like with most aromatics, I would suggest some drying time for the tobacco. Read the rest of this entry »
