The tin aroma of this blend is a heavy caramel and vanilla aroma, caramel being a little more prominent than the vanilla. It smells almost like a caramel-vanilla flavored cup of coffee. The moisture was good for smoking right away, but a little drying time might not hurt. The tobacco is more of a ready rubbed and a little chunky. I didn’t rub it out any, I left it the way it was, loaded my pipe, and proceeded to the charring light.

On the charring light I was greeted by a lovely vanilla aroma with a hint of caramel to it. The vanilla also was more prominent in the taste as well. This surprised me a little as the caramel was more noticeable in the tin aroma. I finished lighting the pipe and settled in for the smoke.

From the very beginning, I could tell that this blend could bite if pushed too much. So I took it very slow. This blend has a good taste to it. I can not differentiate between the vanilla and caramel too much, as the two flavors seem to meld together with each other to create a singular taste. Every once in awhile the vanilla does step forward on it’s own for a short amount of time, but the caramel never stepped out to the front. This blend has a very good flavor.

Around the mid-bowl point, I started picking up on some sweetness to the blend that I would attribute to the Virginias in the blend. It is a different kind of sweetness than the vanilla and caramel. To me, it tastes like natural tobacco sweetness. Although I was picking up on the natural sweetness, the vanilla and caramel flavor was still present as well. This flavor stayed until the end of the bowl.

This is a pretty good aromatic blend. It has a good flavor, burns relatively cool, dry, and doesn’t leave a goopy mess. It does bite a little, but not too bad. This blend is available in large vacuumed sealed bricks as well as tins. It is the same exact blend in both. I have smoked both and there is no difference between them. All in all, this is a pretty good blend and I Recommend it.

You gave me some of this when we were at the Richmond show. I have smoked it a few times since then and I think it is one of the better aromatic blends. As you said, go slow and it doesn’t bite. You can’t say that for all aromatics. Some bite even when you go slow, and some aromatics only smell good unlit, and taste like crap when smoking.

Milonga tastes great and Laura liked the aroma so much when I came in off the deck to answer a question that she said I should stay inside to finish the rest.

I was referenced to this blend while searching for a better quality aromatic. It is currently one of 2 of my favorites. I smoke aromatics for my wife. Otherwise I smoke outside. As the winter months come around that is not so pleasant. This blend is a happy medium for us to enjoy. When is comes to bite this tobacco allows a fuller flavor when smoked slow than other aromatics I have had. I agree with Kevin this blend aroma from the tin matches its smoking taste and aroma.

Thanks for the review and the website. Somedays its like a lone wolf on the prairie being a pipe smoke in the upper midwest!
