PipesMagazine.com, in association with The Chesapeake Cigar Company, has started a new local pipe club in Maryland. The name of the pipe club is, The Thomas Point Pipe Club. As of this time, the club will be having monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of every month (except on Holidays) starting in January. The December meeting will be held the same day as the event.

We will also be having a pipe event as well. We will be having tobacco tastings and will be giving away FREE corn cob pipes and pipe nails while supplies last, so get there early to get yours!

Membership to the pipe club is FREE! The event is also FREE!

You CAN smoke in the shop! Chesapeake Cigar Company has a nice smoking lounge with leather sofas and chairs and has 2 big screen TVs for maximum comfort and relaxation.

I will be there in attendance to talk and answer questions about pipe smoking, pipes, pipe tobacco, PipesMagazine.com, etc.

The date and time for the inaugural meeting and the event is, Saturday December 5, 2009 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.

The event and club meetings will be held at The Chesapeake Cigar Company in Edgewater, Maryland. The shop is located in the Marketplace South River Colony shopping center right next to Food Lion.

The address to the shop is:
Marketplace South River Colony
3275-A Solomons Island Road
Edgewater, MD 21037
Phone – (443)-949-9004

You can get directions to the shop here, in our Pipe Store Locator:

So please come see us on Saturday December 5 for an enjoyable day of pipe smoking and chatting!
And don’t forget to join The Thomas Point Pipe Club while you are there!

See you there!

    Bob,

Sorry I missed this event but as you know the weather was to bad for an old guy like me to be out.
I will try to make some later events.

    Tom,

No worries. The weather affected it for everyone. We had a few people show up early, but a lot of people who planned on attending didn’t make it.

You have to figure that the one time we get early snow in these parts, it affects something that we want to do, lol.

I live in the area, but didn’t hear about this in time (I just found this site the other day). I am very happy to find a local pipe club, and hope to make the future meetings.

We haven’t really hashed out any future meetings yet.The event was hampered by the snow that day, and not too many people showed up.

Maybe you and I can get together for a smoke one day.

I wanted to make it to the first meeting, but couldn’t get there- I’m down in Solomons, but would like to make it up for the next get together- Is there one planned?

I am not sure if there is another gathering planned or not. I don’t think that there is. I was helping the owner of the B&M to try and get a pipe club started, but I have not heard anything from him in awhile.

I’m not too sure if he is still trying or not. If anyone is interested they can call his shop and ask if they are going to have any gatherings or not.
