Hello and thank you for visiting Pipes Magazine.  We call this website Pipes Magazine because we have all kinds of articles, pictures, news, and events coverage about the world of Tobacco Pipes … and because we just think that name sounds kind of cool.

However, we are actually a whole lot more than just an “online magazine”.

Right here at PipesMagazine.com, you can have your own free blog, no strings attached … except for one … you should probably smoke an occasional tobacco pipe, or at least be interested in starting.

You might be thinking, “Everybody and their dog has a blog these days!”

Yes, but we give pipe smokers a special place to blog away in a whirl of delicious sweet blue smoke. This is a special place for us pipe smokers to post on our own blogs … and we are using the best blog software in the world … drum roll please … Wordpress!

Wordpress is so easy to use that your dog actually could have his own blog! Just make sure he (or she) smokes pipes too.

Our Origins:

My name is Kevin Godbee. Back in 2005, I started an online magazine / community site for cigar smokers, called Cigar-Review.com. The site did quite well, well enough to be acquired by a larger company, so now I am out of the cigar publishing business.

Back in 1998, when I started smoking cigars, I also started smoking pipes.

So now, 11 years later, I created PipesMagazine.com.

Why?

I felt there weren’t any modern up-to-date sites for today’s pipe smoker. Pipe Smoking has a long history and may be considered “old-fashioned” by some. However, I have come across people, men and women both, of all walks of life, and in many age ranges that enjoy a nice premium pipe smoke.

I also think that a nice friendly, fun and modern Internet hangout for the pipe smoking crowd will bring more people into “the pipe club” so-to-speak, and I say the more the merrier!
