Hello and thank you for visiting Pipes Magazine.  We call this website Pipes Magazine because we have all kinds of articles, pictures, news, and events coverage about the world of Tobacco Pipes … and because we just think that name sounds kind of cool.

However, we are actually a whole lot more than just an “online magazine”.

There are also Pipe Smokers Forums for lively community discussion as well as a great place to get all your questions answered about pipe smoking directly from real pipe smokers.

As if that was not enough, you can also have your own Profile Page - just like a Facebook page.

I know, I know … Everybody and their goldfish has a Facebook page, but if you really want to set yourself apart from the lemmings, get your own Pipes Magazine Profile Page.

We have taken the time honored tradition of fine tobacco pipe smoking and provided you with a modern virtual “Pipe Smokers Hangout” with all the latest “Internet Gizmos”. How’s that for “Old Fashioned” meets “Web 2.0″?

Our Origins:

My name is Kevin Godbee. Back in 2005, I started an online magazine / community site for cigar smokers, called Cigar-Review.com. The site did quite well, well enough to be acquired by a larger company, so now I am out of the cigar publishing business … at least until after September 2011, when my non-compete expires … Mwa ha ha ha ha.

Back in 1998, when I started smoking cigars, I also started smoking pipes.

So now, 11 years later, I created PipesMagazine.com.

Why?

I felt there weren’t any modern up-to-date sites for today’s pipe smoker. Pipe Smoking has a long history and may be considered “old-fashioned” by some. However, I have come across people, men and women both, of all walks of life, and in many age ranges that enjoy a nice premium pipe smoke.

I also think that a nice friendly, fun and modern Internet hangout for the pipe smoking crowd will bring more people into “the pipe club” so-to-speak, and I say the more the merrier!
