  • Threw out tobacco the other day. I had some old dry stuff from two different blends I had combined into one jar. It was way too dry to smoke so I added layered apple slices to the jar. Not a bad way to rehydrate but I left them in way too long, 4 days instead of one. The tobacco got very dark and wet. Pulled out the slices and then left the jar open so the tobacco could dry out again. But this time I think it started to ferment, and when I tried to smoke it a few days later it smelled sour instead of sweet - and tasted awful. I have a better idea and am still learning how to care for tobacco, but this was an epic failure.
