Just curious if anyone here is part of the Youtube community of pipesmokers? I just heard about this and was wondering if it is an actual youtube channel or just members that subscribe to one another. May sound like a dumb question but I am just starting to get more involved in youtube.

There's just a large number of "vlogers" who have Youtube channels. It's a "community" because they're fairly aware of eachother and have subscribers in common. It's another great internet aspect of the hobby. I'm subscribed to a few channels, but I have to say I spend alot more time and learn alot more here. Definitely worth checking out though.

worth checking out old pipe pops, Tamper peterson and Dagnerperformance. Unfortunately Old Pipe Pops has passed away now, but his videos are a treat to watch.

I am part of the YouTube pipe community. My Channel: https://youtube.com/NW7US. There are a great number of presenters that are worth watching. I suggest you watch past episodes of John's Channel, where he introduces many many newer pipe presenters, and more: https://www.youtube.com/user/Matches860 - in particular, look for his "Matches Moments".
My channel actually covers more than just pipe tobacco topics, so I have started playlists. Look for my pipe-related playlist if you want to stay on-topic. (Here: http://g.nw7us.us/12F4Suy )
Here are a few more:
+ https://www.youtube.com/BrotherBoontar - look for his "Five under Five" videos.
There are many more... what I do is also look at the "likes" and "activity history" of some of these presenters, to see who they are watching. And, I look at the comments to videos to see who is actively engaging.
Hope to see you, there, on YouTube.
Cheers!

I've got some videos up on there. Some just showing pipes, some showing pipmaking processes, some showing roller derby, and one showing me getting cussed out!

I just got into this community, too. It is very interesting to make virtual friends that you can see and hear, too! LOL
There are lots of "chats" and some good information and "how to" type videos as well. Defiantly worth looking into. And I agree with most all the suggestions about finding and being found. Just search for my name - Greg Wolford - if you want to see and hear me. :puffy:

The YouTube Pipe Presenters! What a wonderful group of people! I myself am one of the many pipe presenters on YouTube and currently am holding my much delayed 200 subscribers contest.

It is a very close group of pipe smokers who enjoy sharing their pipe smoking experiences over video. I highly recommend joining the community as you will be welcomed with open arms!

My channel is always welcome to more viewers :P
Let us know if you decide to join!

I've used youtube quite a bit for practical demonstrations of the different techniques I've read on this forum and other sources - Quite useful to see it done by an experience piper.
I ran across one youtube channel the other day The Old Toby Podcast - specifically, I was looking for an exhibition of a pipe-lighting nuance that it was able to answer.

I watch Dagnerperformance/Jay Dagner. They both have a lot of videos, but it seems all the current ones are uploaded to Jay Dagner's channel (the father). Sometimes pretty crude, but the most entertaining to watch IMO, haha.

I am a You Tube Pipe Family Member. Real-Batman. I know NWPipesmoker well, and many others. I have right now 200 subs. I have my own Tobacco Blend, Batman tobacco, and a killer Tobacco Plug, or Brick, almost 6oz.

The reason you do not see Jayson's videos on his channel, they are on Jays, is He left YouTube when YT changed over to Google+ messaging and other Google enhancements. Google owns YouTube now.

See you around. Real Batman

I too have a YT channel. I've been on there over 3 years. Its a great community with a lot of great reviews on pipes, lighters, tampers tobaccos etc. Plus its a great way to interact with other pipe smokers. There are many of us that Skype with one another on a regular basis and for a while many of us have been on Voxer and voxing one another. I typically interact with guys from across the US as well as a fine gentleman across the pond and another down under. Its a great. It sounds weird, but there are a few of those guys that I would call real friends as we interact frequently. I've also met some great people locally and have become friends with several of them as we hang out from time to time.
Here is my channel.

I'm part of the community but not a pipe presenter. I've got numerous pipe making videos/demos and other things on there and really enjoy the fellowship there when I have time to watch videos. I'm about to have a 100 subscriber contest/giveaway so look me up and subscribe, you could be the lucky winner of one of my pipes and other goodies.

I personally prefer to read comments about pipes than watch videos.
The reason is that in my opinion making a good video takes more than a webcam and enthusiasm. It takes presence, voice, message, and practice. I usually give about 7 seconds and if the presenter hasn't caught my attention, I'll switch off. Most of the YouTube videos are about the presenters and not about the subject anyway. "Me, me, me". No script and no actual message.
Not meaning to be harsh, I'm sure many people enjoy these videos. I rarely do.

There are some awful pipe related videos on YouTube. I don't care for the tobacco reviews. No matter how much I like a blend, doesn't mean you will. There are also some pretty great pipe community videos out there so give them a chance. One of my favorites is Matches860. He is like the Bob Ross of the pipe community. He paints a happy little picture with the stories he tells.
I'd post a shameless plug of my own YouTube channel but as usual, I'm on my phone at work. ( smoking my pipe right now btw)
