Looking for info on the brand. I know Barnaby Briars was a shop in NY at one point that made? pipes, can't find much else out. Not pertinent, just digging this pipe and looking for some history or any other examples.
I'd be surprised if these were made 'in house'. More likely they were made for the house and of very high quality.
I've got one, which is a 1/4 bent Rhodesian and one of the gems of my 'collection'. Mine has a vulcanite stem and once had a stinger. There are no fills in the stummel.
Thanks, Beefeater. Already combed those links and I'm not certain the Sears Yorkshire brand is affiliated with the Barnaby Briars Yorkshire. Aside from finding no reference to a Sears model with Briar stem the stamping is different and the double checked boxes on the stem are unique, it's also stamped hand made on the other side of the stem. Doesn't seem to be much/any information on them. A few more pics.
That "Yorkshire" stamping certainly looks like the stamping that I've seen on other Sears & Roebuck Yorkshires and the double checkmarks match the Pipedia photos for Barnaby. So, I'd say they're one and the same.
It's a beauty no matter where it comes from. Congrats!
