This one was in a basket just because it had an oxidized stem and didn't have a box.
It is a Stanwell De Luxe Shape 32.
The blast is very nice and it is a rather short pipe with a fairly large bowl. I like it a lot.
What do you think?
Cheers,
J

This illustrates one of my favorite issues to carp about. Basket pipes cover a wide range, from incredible trash to super finds. You, sir, have one of the super finds. Stanwell is a good pipe and shape 32 is one of their earliest (perhaps the earliest) shapes. Baskets can provide fabulous finds. Never go in a pipe shop with a basket without checking it out. You do have to be experienced enough to know what you're looking at, but looking in the baskets is part of the way you attain that. Great stuff in there every eighth or tenth time you look. Congratulations on picking out a winner!

+1 mso489.
Found many good ones in the basket. I also have a Stanwell 32 Smooth(Colonial). I paid a little extra for an estate at $40, but I knew would be a good smoker.
