    Hello!

I am looking to buy up to 10 tins of Kingfisher. Yes, I realize it’s unicorn status and it price range.
    Thanks!

But you didn't realize WTB posts are verboten here.

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Color me confused as the above quote is from the rules section.

You're quite right the rules say it's o.k. Must have misremembered an admonition in a post by a Mod.

    Sorry.

It's the pipes section disallowing WTB.

For lucky folks like me, this is of no concern, since it was never all there to begin with

I will buy the other ten (anyone selling 10 tins of Kingfisher will surely want to sell twenty).

    And my offer is....

    ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS!

I have one tin of this stuff...I've never smoked it before. I have been debating for months whether it was worth it to open and smoke, or if I'd be better served selling it to someone who wants it and using the funds to buy tobaccos I already know I like. I have no idea what a tin would be valued at.

Depends on where you see it listed. One man's $75 is another's $175. the few people I know who have smoked it say it's an OK, but not great, blend. Rarity is its own virtue.

One just sold on eBay today for $225 which is also what pipestud sells them for, when he happens to have a tin

It's great, make no mistake - full, sweet, deep...just spicy enough, just everything, one of the Great blends. Is it worth 200 bucks a tin? Hell no, buy a bottle of Balvenie and a tin of Long Golden Flake.

I have 2 tins of Kingfisher left. Out of paranoia I transferred both of them to a mason jar two years ago because I had another Kingfisher tin that lost its seal, needless to say I smoked through it and it was sublime. I had 10 tins, smoked 3, sold Peck 5 tins years ago and have two transferred to mason jars left. The jars of course have never been open once I transferred them. The tins were from 2011. If anyone is interested I will sell both for $200.

Way back machine to 2008, and Kingfisher was my daily after work smoke that year. Perfect cut and bowl fill, sweet but fulfilling. I'd go through a tin in 2 or 3 weeks, then stop by local tobacconist and buy another. Rinse and repeat. I had no cellar. I was oh so ignorant of availability then.

On a related note, I reached out to Arango and was told that Kingfisher will be made again, just not sure when.
