Spinning ball of dirt
I picked this pipe up recently, it is unmarked but the seller said the maker is Steven Miller.

Anyone else have a pipe made by him?

This "wormwood" rustication is great.

That's thoughtfully done, understated, and suits the size of the bowl nicely. I have a LaRocca, just a factory pipe, that has a loop pattern; it's a poker with a generous size bowl but not over-heavy. I looked it over at my local indy pipe shop, and felt it was a little too folksy, but it stayed with me until I went back weeks later to buy it if it was still there, and it was, and I did. I've told this story several times, but it was a distinct experience. Sometimes the right rustication or carving just clicks.

Interesting surface treatment. Looks like it was carved with a burr, in an open, random, pattern of tracks, and dents, of varying depths, etc.
It's different. Enjoy your pipe....that's all that really matters.
