I just found a link how to make a wooden pipe and would like to know your opinions about it.
    link
When I saw it I almost fell off the chair. Comments below instructions seem positive but I was shocked and would never light that piece of wood, specially with a gas burner as shown on step 10.
I have no intention to make a pipe myself but how can one be happy with a product like that and even gift it?

I think you're right, it sounds like a dubious project.

    So is the Captain Black....

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

It says it was for his father's birthday. This was the reaction:

I'm not sure what to think on that one. The wood looks like cedar and the torch at the end even with a metal bowl is a nope.

I think it is great idea that this fellow made a pipe as a gift for his father!
But the fact that it is made out of ordaniary wood and the he used a cigar torch lighter to light the pipe.
    Is Priceless!:mrgreen:lol

That is a great gesture and I am sure his father will enjoy many years of looking at that pipe as a decoration on his mantle or pipe stand Of course it would be too special to actually smoke.
