I’m withdrawing from the board because of my ongoing disrespect for other members as well as the lessened meaning I feel being here being 10 months quit. Over the last 18 months of my involvement I’ve felt that I was slowly learning how to be a good citizen, but as the negativity continues to recur, it seems honorable to bow out. And I don’t even smoke anymore. Though some of you may ask me to reconsider, the decision is firm. I will miss all of you and board life, but it is time to move on.

    Happy smokes to all!

    Sorry to see you go.

    I wish you well.

I'm really surprised that you hung in there with us for as long as you did, after quitting smoking. I think it is good to have someone who challenges things, but I guess there comes a point where you have to just let it go. I hate that it has to be the whole forum that you have to let go.

May you live long, prosper, and find new interests that give you pleasure.

So long, Salt. I've disagreed with a lot of what you wrote, but I always felt it was value-added, and it certainly added to the debate.

I respect your decision and I will miss your contributions. Perhaps you may revisit your decision in the future. Until then, best of luck with everything!

    It’s understandable.

The best thing to do with forums is to stay out of the mud. I only participate in positive discussions.

Best wishes Salt. You often made things interesting...whether it was something I agreed with you on or not.

If I had given up smoking I don't think I would have hung around as long as you have...it'd make me miss the pipe too much.

    Take care.

All best wishes and long may you prosper and thrive.

Been here about a year now. Is it improper to ask just WTF would make a member like saltedplug want to leave? Don’t really remember any negative or heated exchanges that would make someone want to leave here. Maybe I’m missing something.

If it’s better to leave it alone, I’ll totally understand.

The Forum is a strange dimension.

A man who serves his country is a patriot. A man who serves his government is an employee. The two are not always the same thing.

I think there may have been other dust-ups in the past having something to do with Salt, but apparently the denouement came with this one:

Best wishes for your health and happiness Salted. I think if the site brings you more pleasure than frustration, you should stay. If not, you're making the right decision for yourself. Regardless, be well and enjoy life.

I liked Salted raw and uncut and always appreciated your posts as well as the discussions they helped to generate. Diversity among forum members is one of the things that keeps this site interesting.

I too wish you well in whatever it is that lies ahead and will miss your contributions here.
