It's hard for me to believe after all these years, but I once was a teen ager.Back in those days I had my eye on a pretty young girl. She turned me down because she wanted a college man.I didn't make it to college, and I didn't get the young girl..I'm just wondering who here went to college and who didn't.

I went. Got two degrees and ended working at a local one. I have to admit, though that traditional, college-age kids are my favorite. Technically adults, but still need mentoring. Nothing like watching them grow over 4+ years into contributing members of society.

I went. 2 Computer Science Degrees and a few classes short of my Masters. My situation is a bit interesting (at least to me), since I am the first person in my blood line to even step foot on a collage campus. It's been a pretty big difference maker for me over my life. I am very happy to say that most of my nephews and 2 daughters have attended college now. I am now on the other side of the fence and I hire people. I actually don't care if they have a degree or not. I care if they're smart, motivated, dependable and have integrity.

Proud graduate of Vandy. Loved my 3 years as a history major. Useless degree but loved it. Then did tech school for diesel mechanic. Less fun but more job options

Well I'm attending it now. It does seem that today it's nigh impossible to do just about anything for a living without getting some "higher" education.
Here in Ontario a fella needs a high school diploma to be qualified to lay brick full-time!
Haha the good thing about that is that when I saw to getting my GED I could make a joke like, "Now I'm qualified to lay brick full-time!"

In college now, but left for the army right after high school. No regrets at all. Mostly in school because of my VA benefits.taking classes I enjoy not the ones I have too.

I'm currently in Uni. I'm an advertising major. Started smoking pipes mostly due to nostalgia of tradition and gentlemanly activities.

Went to Arizona State. 5 years and 3 majors later I graduated. Started in Industrial Design, then Photography for a few years and then graduated with an Art Studies major focusing in metal work. I work as a manager at a sporting goods store. Someday Ill have space in my home for a studio. My degree and more importantly the life lessons and connections I made while in school got me where I am today, so I'm happy. Somewhat of a useless degree, but I'm an artist at heart always have been and always will be.

UNL , Bachelor of Arts with a major in music . I want to get my M.M. in musicology one day .
Tried my hand at band directing for 6 months . To many rules , smoke free campus , not enough compensation for a degree . My high school dropout friends were offshore making double my salery . After I quit , I applied to LSUE and recieved my BS IN Health Sciences . I am 12 years now working as a RN BSN . I still play music with a couple of local bands , and love to sing and play for anyone who will listen . I often sing in the hospital too . If ever a curriculum is offered in pipe smoking , Ill definatly apply for that degree as well .

B.S. in Mathematics and am now a cost analyst for a billion dollar engineering firm. Would not be where I am today without my degree. I work with hundreds of engineers, many not classicly trained. Most times, I would rather deal with the engineers without degrees. More common sense. I am a bit ashamed of my generation. So many getting degrees and they still are not educated.

BA in Bible, couple classes short of a Masters in linguistics. I finish my Masters of Business Administration after the next class starting in two weeks.

I am advising my son to wait on college. The cost is too high and student loans in the US can not be wiped out with bankruptcy.

FYI, my job requires a HS diploma and 10+ years of on the job training. But I am hoping the MBA will help me to make the jump to management.

4 years as a fine arts student, no degree, then off to the army for a few years. Finished a bachelors in Healthcare Administration and marketing years later. After a good run things turned sour a while back and I am now in a small engine repair trade school that the VA is paying for... Life is a ride for sure.

I did not go as a younger man. Now in my late 40's I just finished my B.A.O.L. (Bachelor of Art in Organizational Leadership) and now starting a M.B.A. Master of Business Administration. A completely new world has opened up to me. I would offer if a person could find a way to go to school even one class at a time it may open one’s mind.

Associates in Electrical Engineering thanks to the USMC back in 1990, then nothing until I got my BS in Poli Sci a couple years ago. Gonna do law school in about a year or so once my youngest daughter is a junior in high school.
Degree didn't do much for my current job in charge of an IT department for a county government, but college was a lot of fun as an adult.

BS in Business Administration. Took a total of 8 years to get, had to stop during the middle due life, but glad I finished. Can't say it has helped professionally much, but it sure helped on the inner growth department. Been toying with the idea of getting a MFA, I kind of miss school, but the costs are insane.

    Minor in Mathematics.

I have applied to a few Ph.D. programs in economics and am excited to start in August!

It's very fun seeing what everyone has done (school wise). Some very different than others, but all seem pretty happy with their choice. Very neat that we are so different.

Currently there, double majoring in History and English and taking any music classes I want to, which means for me it's a lot of fun... Anyway I'm glad I'm there for many reasons, one of them being I wouldn't be smoking a pipe otherwise!

I'm finally there, no degree yet, but I'm maintaining a 4.0 as a physics major (for now haha) and am feeling extremely fulfilled by it. The best part (well, there's a lot of best parts to this) is after a decade of insomnia, it disappeared a week after starting school, and I finally sleep when I go to bed. Never really got to use my brain at work. Looking forward to academic related jobs through school while attending so I can do exactly that. New term starts tomorrow here, so busy, busy, busy (gotta look into more scholarships too). This is a whole new world for me.

BA, Social Science, Michigan State University. Although I did not directly use my degree,it taught me, like any good liberal arts degree will, how to read, write, think analytically, and acquire new information. In short, it taught me how to learn, which has served me well.
Also a certificate in Computer Programming and Operations from Control Data Institute, and an Associate of Applied Science in Web Programming from Macomb Community College.

Started working right out of high school and never looked back. Worked my way up to Plant Manager of a PVC pipe manufacturer and then they closed the plant. Decided to quit moving, bought a couple of restaurants and then decided to hit the books at 48. Got my RN and I'm still in school for my BSN and then on to Nurse Practitioner at 51. Never too late to go back and wouldn't trade my decision for anything. School opens the mind and opens doors no matter which way you decided to go. Kinda cool, my son (20) and I crossed the stage together at graduation, he with an Associates in Graphic Arts, me with my RN.

Went to Boston University for 2 years and then they asked me to leave, something about having to attend class. Smartest move I ever made, went into the real world in sales, started my own businesses and now living the good life. I was a lousy student who hated school, I saved my old man some money.

My oldest son graduates in May and my oldest daughter is a Sophomore. Luckily all my kids are great students unlike their old man.

When I got done with high school I was ready to be done with "general" education. Went off to the Air Force and they of course sent me to tech school, but was far more interesting that public education. I got out when my job was cut after the first gulf war and got a good job working for a semi-conductor company and I've never looked back. Although now I find myself thinking it might be time to go back to school.

Working as a farm hand, a ditch digger, a fry cook, and a warehouseman convinced me to go to college. First generation college in my family. Did a Bachelor of Science, in Economics and Math, at the University of North Texas. Then I did 25 years of work in high tech. When I finished raising my kids, I realized a long-held dream and did a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Michener Center for Writers, University of Texas. I should have stopped there, but I went on and did a Master of Science in Information Studies at the University of Texas, with the aim of becoming a librarian.

Now I am over-educated and under-employed. I write, and I teach at three universities, all adjunct, part-time, no benefits, I do editing and writing work, and I give workshops and do readings. All that together and I make about 25% of what I made in tech. But what I do now is a lot more fun.

I have a PhD, but I try not to let that stand in the way of anything.

I went to a Bible College, did a year and half a semester. Greatest thing I ever did was go to Bible College that first year. I'm going to be going to Siast in the fall most likely to start the process of getting my ticket as an electrician.

I've been to 4 different colleges, but life has gotten in the way each time. I really didn't take advantage of the G.I Bill. So, no degree for me. I still don't know what i want to be when i grow up.
