I am smoking a meerschaum pipe and in the case appears the letters ADP in an oval lozenge shape. Any ideas who this is who made the pipe as its not one of the 'usual suspects' that I recognize?

Apparently ADP stands for Adolph David Posener: https://www.geni.com/people/Adolph-Posener/6000000002813192087

Thanks for the info, pitchfork. I own a cased set of four ADP silver banded billiards with both amber and vulcanite stems. The bands are hallmarked 1907. Also, the ADP pipe plays a small part in the Sherlock Holmes' story "The Silver Blaze." i'll try to post photos of the set later. Thanks again for the information on Adolph David Posener. I've been searching for something on these pipes for years.

I was just curious as it is a meerschaum 'cutty' pipe with an amber stem and a rather attractive silver band I was smoking this morning. I will try and post pictures tonight. Thank you for your input guys.

Pitchfork is just a great resource for this sort of information. I smiled when I saw the advert for Codd's patent bottles. I used to find those every time I dug too deep in my kitchen garden when I had the cottage in the U.K long before I came to the colonies.
