The fact that this thread is still going suggests to me that the record-holder hasn't shown up yet.

Agreed. We all wait for the sinister agitator with bated breath.

By the way, I am starting a non-partisan petition to get President Trump added to Mount Rushmore. Please PM me if you are willing to sign. Many thanks,

There be a bad business brewin' below decks, Cap'n Woodsy!

A man who serves his country is a patriot. A man who serves his government is an employee. The two are not always the same thing.

Peck is Canadian so if he votes is it illegal or will the wall stop him before he hatches his sinister plan?

I see lazar is getting a few bites. He's waiting for the big one before he reels in though.

You misunderstand me, 'cap. And you and a couple of others frequently see my responses as the "troublemaker" post rather than the post I was responding to. Why wasn't aldecaker's remark about racism seen as "bait"? In any case, my response was not nearly as provocative as the Mt. Rushmore one above, which should be deeply offensive to any patriotic American. Unless it was intended to be ironic - hard to tell nowadays.

I didn't intend for this thread to be a "Who Can Close This One The Fastest" contest.

    Which y'all are losing, anyways.

Lazar, question anyone's patriotism is a very quick way to the closure of a thread.

In my defense, the remark was not about racism, which I feel we can all agree is bad. The remark used common misuse of the word "racism" as an illustrative example.

Alrighy, Jesus and allah are fictionalized characters. Anyone who thinks voting is imperative doesn’t understand the electoral process in the US . Voting and democracy have elected the likes of Hitler, Putin and Hugo Chavez.

I get that - I was just pointing out that it wasn't seen as bait by the charming Captain, whereas my reply was. Which I don't get. Now that the guy who was defending Nazis has been banned, I hope you're right that we can all agree that racism is bad.

Er . . . for clarity, does that mean you will sign or not?

If you change it to Putin's head, sure - it'll be a more accurate reflection of reality.

Voting and democracy have elected the likes of Hitler, Putin and Hugo Chavez.

And could have prevented them. If you don't don't vote, you have zero right to complain about the government or the effects its laws have on your life.

    Bunch of pikers, y'all are.
You need to go back and take some lessons from the late, great, collective Anonymous. Now he knew which end of the stick was shitty!

Which reminds me: What was my original question here, before the knuckleheads, pitbulls, sharks and hook-baiters moved in? Ah, yes: Who holds the record for closing the most threads. We're looking for the person responsible, which may or may not be different from the person who started the thread, was the last to post, or the ostensible bomb-thrower. We're looking for root causation. The string-puller. Might also be the guy who screamed fire in the movie theater, though.

The view of Mt. Rushmore, from the rear, for Canadians, and the addition of Trump the loudmouth to the sober four, would seem entirely accurate.

As far as King of Closed Threads and Poverbial Pot-stirrers ? I think that always depends on the particular member and his hierarchy on this little forum, like every other forum. One guy gets away with breaking forum rules on a regular basis and is ass-kissed and praised by his faithful followers while another guy does one questionable thing wrong and is sent off to Ban County Jail.

Me ? I'm just a dogcatcher and ocasssional forum watchdog as well..trying to keep it real when the bulldogs start barking and shitting on other people the lawns.

And I agree with alan73 regarding the ignorant masses of sheep who've been so dumbed-down they would sacrifice their very lives to keep the lies alive. The books "Idiocracy, "The Marching Morons" and "The Matrix" comes to mind.

    Woof.

I treat people the way they treat me. It's that simple.

alan, have you ever tried any of those "foolproof" pipe break-in methods like honey and castor oil paste or whatever, or do you just smoke the hell out of it and power through?

(And by the way, I noticed you capitalized Jesus but not Allah. I think I might be...oh, nope, not offended after all. Whew, that was a close one!)

I have not tried those. Been powering thru. I’m a little nuts , I bought numerous pipes over last three years, and have only started smoking the unsmoked varieties this year. Breaking in 5 or so right now .

Who holds the record? It's that little sh*t who sneaks around and PMs the mods to close a thread because he/she has been ... what's the word ... irritated? No that's not it. We had a whole thread a few years back about members having their feelings hurt, getting their panties in a bunch. That's the guy that holds the record. Only Kevin has the records and can do the math as to who the wee snitch is.

I think it all started back in the day when we were having a serious discussion regarding whether War Horse could be recreated by people who didn't understand that it couldn't and therefore offered up serious moneys. The naysayer was ignored, not invited to participate, resulting in the individual imploding and disappearing into the ether.

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

[carves "V" into poster on wall]

V: The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

V: Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Evey Hammond: Are you, like, a crazy person?

Crazy person? No, just a pipe smoker on a forum.

Counfounded! Canadian candidly chumming, churning citizens contra callous, curmudgeonly chieftain!

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
