I have a chance to get a free pipe from a buddy. I like both styles but based pure reputation and make which would you choose? A Savinelli De Luxe Milano a

Or a Bjarne Viking Classic

Good point Allan. Basically he is giving the one I don't pick to another guy we smoke pipes with, but I get to have first choice.

I'm lovin' the Sav.

I like the look, the colour and the blast.

Based on my experience with Savinellis, that's the one I'd choose if it comes down to only one.

I would choose the viking, it's got super grain, and bjarne is a great brand. The Sav will probably perform like a champ too, but to me the look is just a little to "ordinary".

Alan makes a good point, offer to buy the second one. -given a choice between the two, I'd choose the Viking.

I've never smoked either brand, but this is pretty persuasive:

Long shanks are like long legs; you can't go wrong. The blast is just a bonus. The Sav gets my vote.

Sav, Classic, Tall bowl, good for flakes, beautiful rustification, the shank is like a Venus De Milo, I"m not predjuiced. :rofl:
