    I've recently discovered Ernest Farrar's orchestral works.

    Here is his wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Farrar

    His life was cut short in WWI. He apparently has my luck, since he was killed in the last 60 days of the war despite enlisting in 1916 and joining the Grenadier Guards. This regiment was involved in some of the worst fighting in the war.

    To give my ears a rest from the metal, my iTunes has graciously selected "Summertime" by Big Brother and the Holding Company. Unfortunately, it's kind of depressing me since summer is almost over, but it's such a great tune. First few bars always gives me chills...
