At the moment, a lot of David Bowie. Mainly his last album though I'm bidding on an original 1983 vinyl copy of his Let's Dance album. Hopefully I can win

^ my favorite band. And that used to be my least favorite album of theirs because I associated it with them getting played on the radio and then ultimately breaking up. But recently I have revisited it and it is an amazing record. Just think what they could have become if they had stayed together. As I said my all time favorite band. Rock on!

I agree that the album seemed to commercialize The Clash, but it is a truly great album on its own merits.

    3 for the Fourth.

First up, a (imo) very beautiful and well crafted song by Mary Karlzen:

And now the past to me is a memory of an exploding sky
As we lay in the dark in the park on our backs
It was the Fourth of July

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYlKrIs0i0c

    Next some classic Elton:

Pinky's as perfect as the Fourth of July

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4u8qsw3DIM

And finishing up with some live CCR:

And I can remember the Fourth of July
    Runnin' through the backwood bare

I thought this was a really good interview/conversation with Petty from 2014. Gets into a lot about both the songwriting and recording processes, and how things have changed in the music biz and culture in general...and some about the impact of the digital age. And a lot more.

    Sir Ringo is 78 today!
Here's a tune from his latest album Give More Love, "We're On The Road Again" written by Ringo and Steve Lukather, and featuring Steve on guitar, Ringo on drums, and Sir Paul on Bass (and background vocals)
