If you are/were a fan of the TV series "Northern Exposure," I am here to tell you that every weekday morning from 9 to 11AM you can listen live to a re-enactment of "Chris in the Morning" on KBHR 57AM radio from Cicely, Alaska. Jeff, who portrays "Chris Steven" does a fabulous job. He sounds just like Chris, plays an awesome variety of music, and even reads poetry and expounds eloquently just like Chris Stevens did on the TV series.

Northern Exposure was the greatest tv series ever!! Bar none!! That series is what inspired me to move to Montana. It's not Alaska, but the idea of small town cold climate life... I craved it after that show. Thanks for bringing up KBHR and Chris In The Morning!

The greatest son the Beatles ever did that you've probably never even heard -

    Tomorrow Never Knows

Tomorrow Never Knows (you never know what tomorrow brings):
Turn off your mind relax and float down stream
It is not dying, it is not dying

Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void,
It is shining, it is shining.

Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being

Love is all and love is everyone
It is knowing, it is knowing

And ignorance and hate mourn the dead
It is believing, it is believing

But listen to the colour of your dreams
It is not leaving, it is not leaving

So play the game Existence to the end
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning

To Master Po: Is it not being able to see that makes you tire of life?
Master Po: No! It is being able to hear!

A few years back I decided to "Cut the Cord"

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, I decided to sh!t can the dish and cable.

We maxed out our internet connection to 300Mbps and bought several Roku boxes.

One of the best decisions I've made. Haven't missed cable/dish at all.

The nice thing is we still have access to our local channels through a TWC app. (couldn't get em over the air without a 40' antenna)

But I hardly ever watch regular "live" tv. Mostly it's movies, documentaries or tv via Netflix, Amazon or Hulu.

This evening I'm sittin up in the mancave, sippin cognac, and smokin my briars.

All of that to say this...

I'm listening to "The Voice" highlights on youtube. It's a great experience. I get to hear the best of what the voice has to offer without all of the blah, blah, blah and behind the scenes.

Don't get me wrong, the Blonde and I still watch full episodes of the show together, but when I'm up here chillin, it's nice to just hear nice new raw talent.

    Cheers

Brett, the band or the cigarettes?

Regards the smokes I never tried them, regards the band, I've only heard a very little many moons ago.

Regards Judas Priest, did you ever hear their version of peter Green's (Fleetwood Mac) Green Manalishi? The best track they ever set to vinyl.

Beefeater's got me revisiting classic EJ. Just re-watched the documentary on the making of GYBR the other day.

They're all gems, but this one especially so:

The Ballad Of Danny Bailey (1909-34)

We're runnin' short of heroes back up here in the hills...without Danny Bailey we're gonna have to break up our stills.

Thanks, MetalMan! I never knew that was their first track cut! I discovered that song long, long ago when a friend gave me an original pressing of the Revolver album. As to Richard Alpert AKA Baba Ram Dass, he also wrote a book called 'Be Here Now' on the Yogic experience. recommended reading for the true seeker.

Toob, I tried the link. Said the video is no longer available.

No, it still works fine! Try a different browser, maybe try Firefox.
