I'm wondering what the view is on large bowl shorter pipes? I've heard the terms "chubby" and "pocket" on various sights but I often have trouble gauging a pipe's size when its sitting on a flat surface with nothing to judge it against. Mine is a meer I got at the local B+M.... It was cover in these hideous tacky flower things with a long bright yellow stem. Using my swiss army knife file I filed off the flowers, cut the stem, and filed a new button, then a sanding and re-wax with bees wax. Its a decent sized tomato shape (I think lol) and I'd like something maybe a bit shorter but larger bowl. Thoughts? Input?

I love short and chubbies. Have a few of em. I do want a tomato too, I think they are way cool. That's a nice meer!

Another Luciano chubby bulldog (not quite as chubby as the others, but on the chunky and short side)

I have a fairly large "pear" shape estate that has the shank cut down (I assume due to damage) which makes it very short and has a 1/4 bent stem. Even still it's maybe 3/4 the size of some of the pipes you guys have posted. I especailly like that dublin with the saddle bit.

Radice chubby billiard

Grey, how does it smoke? The Radice chubby aero 55 that neat pipes has really appeals to me.
It's a fantastic pipe. I bought it estate from a friend of one of the forum members here. I have owned it almost a year and I love it. Pretty large chamber so I like it for complex blends (tried Chelsea morning in it today). I own 4 soon to be 5 radice's and they are all awesome pipes. Smoking pipes has a couple very similar pipes as we'll. I'd buy another in a second!
Edit: they sold already!

'Don't have any chubbies, but a favorite pocket pipe is a J. Perry handcarved bent billiard

with a golden brown briar and an orange stem, and a surprisingly good-capacity bowl.

It's a convenient travel pipe -- compact, dressy, with enough bowl for a slow smoke.

Thanks Bradley, it's still a ways to go before I call it "finished" but it smokes really good and stay cool even when I'm puffing a storm.

That Castello is a sweet looking pipe. I have been on a big sandblasted/rusticated kick my last few pipes.

Yes, that is an awesome Castello. I love their sea rock stuff and that's a great shape.

Thanks, I havent smoked it yet. I finished the trade up for it last week and it came this week. Between the crazy cold weather, and having to drive my son and wife around when her car wasn't working or becaus he was sick, the smoke just hasnt materialized. Maybe tomorrow morning.
