What Is a Pipe Lottery or Pipe Megaball?

Afternoon all. Question for you all. I had set up a facebook account years ago but never used it. My son has been on me about using facebook and catching up with technology. So he spent some time today explaining facebook to me and showing me how it works. So of course I searched for pipe sites and found a couple that seem interesting. But there was one that says it is exclusively for pipe lotteries/megaball. Seems to have something to do with buying or selling pipes and tobacco, but for the life of me I could not figure it out. Can anyone share how this type of thing works?

I think you are talking about the pipe raffles. The seller lists a pipe and claims let's say 20 spots. Each spot costs $5 or so, there is also a reserve for the minimum amount of the spots. When all the spots (or the minimum reserve at least) are full the seller picks a winner randomly.
