We all enjoy a beverage with our pipe be it water, whiskey, or coffee.

    What are you sipping on?

    Gin and Tonic, currently.

At this moment an "Arnold Palmer" iced tea and lemonade. After dinner, in a couple of hours, I believe I just might indulge in a bit of "Guinness."

    I don't always drink when I smoke, but when I do, it's ice-cold PBR.

Enjoy the gin. I can't stand the stuff--the aunt that raised me was a gin drunk and I have too many memories of her and watering down quarts of that solvent.

Just finished a bowl of Vintage Syrian in my Stephano. Working a bit out in the shop--and stripping all of the finish and stain off my 1985 Pete 8S special edition. Such great grain--such a stodgy and muddled finish. More to come on that.

Drinking? I have been up for the past 38 and a half hours dealing with the new HUD grant application cycle and a trip to Syracuse. Halfway into a six of Southern Tier Brewing Company IPA. 4 kinds of hops--4 kinds of malts. 7.3% ABV.

Something tells me that when I finish this one I will be passed out in my office chair!

Had a Deschutes Black Butte 26 imperial stout at supper. I'm a huge fan of the Deschutes regular lineup, and the seasonals like this, Stoic, and Abyss are all worth the price.

I love traditional ales and dark beer, if I smoke later in the day I'll often pair a beer with my pipe, I don't really have a favourite as they're all good :D. I have noticed that I subconsciously seem to pair the bitter hoppy beers with sweeter blends.

I rarely smoke in the morning but if I do a good cup of coffee with my pipe is lovely.

I don't drink alcohol very often these days, and seeing that it's 9 in the morning, I am enjoying a coffee and some Danish Black.

I always drink water or coffee with my smoke. I did read that alcohol is not recommended while you smoke because it makes you mouth more susceptible to any toxins. I founds this in the Seattle Pipe Clubs web page. ·

"However, sorry everyone, do not drink alcohol while you smoke. The combination of alcohol and smoke is not just a linear risk, but exponential. This is a huge mistake most smokers make. The alcohol destroys the flora and protective lining of mucus in the mouth. Then the hot smoke will directly come in contact with the unprotected mouth lining. Drink alcohol only after you smoke".

Crazyhog- actually had a conversation with a head and neck surgeon. He thought moderate pipe smoking was not a big deal but felt strongly one should not concurrently smoke alcohol. The benzenes more readily allow carcinogens to be absorbed in our muscosa.
