I mean tobaccos that are sold loose, can be shipped in bags
and ordered by the lb or in most cases less. Someone a while
ago recommended MacBaren's 'Original Choice' as a good smoke.
I ordered a 1lb bag, am smoking it now, and really enjoying it.
Another recent recommendation was 'Gawith Hoggarth & Co.:
Dark Bird's Eye' and I now have 8oz on the way. Of tinned
tobaccos -- 'Gaslight', 'Maltese Falcon'. 'Quiet Nights',
'Westminster', etc., -- I have lots on my Wishlist but would
now like to add some good bulk tobaccos to it.

Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and the coins
Most of the Rattrays come in larger 500g units
Sam Gawith used to come in larger units also

Almost all of the Esoterica blends are available in 8oz bags.

So many great blends. Check out bulk from Cornell & Diehl, Daughters & Ryan, Peter Stokkebye, Lane, Sutliff ... and so many others. Someone recently recommended C&D's Mountain Camp and Poplar Camp, both fuller strength, but read the specifications on any bulk and find those you are likely to enjoy.

Arango Balkan Supreme is a really good one. Just had a bowl of that yesterday. It's really good, and might I add, cheap for what it is. I bought a pound back last summer for about $34, I think, and jarred it up. Been smoking out of a couple 4 ounce jars what I couldn't press into my pint jars.

Peter Stokkebye's : Proper English, Cube Cut, LNF, LBF, English Oriental Supreme, Nougat

Crooner which I think is a C&D bulk.

There are so many great bulks out there, but if I had to pick three:

    1. Arango Balkan Supreme
    2. Kramer's Father Dempsey
    3. PS LBF
    Hon. Mention: Sutliff 515-RC

Oh by the way, Boswell's Northwoods is really good and sold by the pound. It's a fantastic English.

I already have 5 lbs of Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and, yes,
it's a great smoke. I'm trying to build up my stock of the
Stokkebye bullseye right now. I keep hearing Esoterica mentioned
and will look into it. Thanks.

Many thanks, guys, for your all of your suggestions. Some of them
I already have, I've put the others on my wishlist.

Tinned tobaccos are pricey and for various reasons can sometimes
end up costing me -- ounce for ounce -- three times as much as bulk.

If you like that Mac Baren then I recommend you check out Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Blend.

An yeah, I agree Arango BS is ridiculously good, reminds me of Skiff but good luck finding it right now (not that I really searched for it, it’s just always out at the places I shop)

Oh and plus 1 on the Father Dempsey... one of the best English blends that’s made in America (IMO).

For a great, no bull smoke, I would say PS Navy flake or luxury Navy flake all day long. PS Bullseye flake is also really good. Most of Lanes bulk blends are pretty decent. Even their aromatics are pretty tasty. Personally I really enjoy dark red and black raspberry from time to time, as well as nougat. Their proper english is also pretty decent, but I prefer other English style blends. While I am not sure if it comes in bulk, at the moment I am really enjoying comoys cask number 11. I know they have large tins of it

Stokkebye Balkan Supreme is the same blend. Bought 4 five pound bags of it a couple of weeks ago.

It's out-of-stock at smokingpipes right now but I've put in
a request to be notified when they get some.

WOW! 4 five pound bags? I hate to think how much duty
would be charged on that if I attempted to import such
a huge quantity into Japan. I've put it on my wish list
but will only be able to bring it in 8oz at a time.
