Here's another review from a inexperienced greenhorn.
A few days ago smokingpipes.com got some Wessex burley slices in so I bought a few tins. Opened it up as soon as it came to the house. Tin note was nothing special to me, earthy, smiley aroma. When rubbed out It has the same consistency and feel of Solani Aged Burley Flakes. After 3 bowls and a few days this is what a think about the blend. Not to difficult to light although it can stand setting out a little. On the first puff a thought Aged Burley Flakes. Same earthy taste, I mean very similar. I like ABF so this was a good start. Wessex seems a bit sweeter with a little more chocolate, brown sugar taste. I saw a review that I totally agree with. It is the last half or third of these tobacco that sets it apart. Instead of getting bitter it became sweeter, brown sugar, with clove spice. The room note makes me think of baked brownies. Burned to ash. Ok that's enough. Good stuff, if you like ABF, give this a try, very similar.
