Went To Nat Shermans, Came Home With a Brebbia!
On one of my visits to NYC I stopped by Nat Shermans and instead of just checking out some of their blends I was called to by a beauty on the wall...
I had to have it, its marked mpb sabbiata, just not sure what shape it is but smokes great! Also picked up 2 oz. of 527 and 509 which I haven't tried yet. A good day for PAD!
I'd call it an Author shape. Really nice, Mctrav!
Brebbia and Savinelli make the best Authors, IMO.
I've always wanted one and now, thanks to Dave Neeb, he is reserving a large Savinelli author for me. February is PAD month for me, a Sav Author and, from a friend, a Wilmer AAA -- I can't wait!
I have a rusticated Brigham in that exact shape and it's my favourite smoker
Looks nice. I would call that an Author as well.
Forgot to mention the guys at Nat Shermans treat you like royalty, even amongst the suits a sailor like me was treated with the same respect.
Judging from their website, pipes don't exist at Nat Sherman's. That's one reason I never bothered to stop there.
Since you have to die anyway, you might as well die from something you like.
Love the Author shape!
Yeah I don't know why they don't advertise their pipe selection, they have a nice display. Front case has some really nice dunhills too.
Nice pipe. Very nice to hear that about Nat Sherman's too.
"Be seeing you"
Looks great sir! Congrats on the new addition.
The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.
Thats a beautiful Brebbia... I love how they smoke, although mine doesn't pass a cleaner through it... but she smokes very well regardless!
Hope she gives you many years of enjoyment!
I carry a gun... because a cop is too heavy!
I love author and prince shapes, and Brebbia makes some beauties. Congrats on your new pipe.
Congratulations on your new pipe. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
Thanks everyone, def one of my smoothest smokers which I will never bring to work.. Already lost my platinum wedding band to the drink, can't bear to lose this beauty to the seas.
That is a great looking pipe with a very nice blast. I hope it smokes great for you. Congrats on your new pipe.

Michael Herklots left as the GM of Davidoff New York a year or two ago to take over as Nat Sherman's Executive Director Retail and Brand Development. Michael is highly respected in the world of cigar and wine aficionados.
If I lived anywhere close to NYC, I'd definitely try to find out why he hasn't jump started Nat's pipe & pipe tobacco business like he has done on the cigar side.
It's appalling to me, for example, that Nat Sherman's web site doesn't even mention pipes and pipe tobacco at all -- in fact when you enter your DOB, you need to click and choose between "cigars" and "cigarettes."
You know I didn't know it was a pipe shop. They started, specializing in custom printed cigarettes sold from a store on 7th Ave around 38th st. They also had cigars. Originally no pipes or tobacco. When they moved to 5th Ave & 42nd st quite a few years ago I never bothered going in. And I have been bemoaning the lack of real pipe shops in NYC. Do they have any really good pipes?
I think that I remember seeing some Dunhills in their case last summer?
Do they have any really good pipes?
I'd think it is worth a visit. Now, whether they have anyone working there who can talk pipes, that's another story.
I do know they still stock and sell some damn good hand blended pipe tobaccos.
