I commissioned a pipe from my buddy Bruce around Easter, a bent egg. Time went by, life happens, and he gets to spend less time in his shop. Last week he sends me a text saying that he will have me a pipe in the mail. I ask what I owe him, and he replies, "Zip". 8O
The package arrives today, and I discover that it's a sandblasted Dublin with a Cumberland stem and hippo tooth shank accent that I've had my eye on for a while since he posted it on his site. He may not have had time to do the pipe I originally wanted, but I am deeply humbled by his generosity.

Ran a bowl of Speakeasy Navy Blend through it, and it smokes like a well broken in briar. Couldn't be happier!

Love that Dublin, the finish, the stain, the stem. It looks like the perfect Va or Va/Per flake pipe, though it will likely smoke anything.

It's a bit diminutive when compared to its siblings, but it is nice to have a nice little pocket pipe from him. It clenches effortlessly, and smokes cool and dry.That hippo tooth accent has a nice shine to it that ivory doesn't quite match. An almost iridescence. On a side note, I talked to him yesterday, and he said when he gets a chance, he's going to make me a matching tamper!
