Wow.

:P

This arrived today and I'm pretty stoked about it!
This was my first time doing a commission and getting it all sorted out with Wayne was a true pleasure --- he's naturally affable and made me feel comfortable right from the get go, and showed a bright enthusiasm to take on the project too, which was awesome.
The end result is quite stunning in my eyes and I absolutely love it.
The actual color is difficult to reproduce in photos, but handling it in the flesh the stainwork and finish is extremely appealing --- it pops and stands out as a very fine looker!
Thank you Wayne!

:puffy: :!:

Magnificent blast. That stem is amazing. As much as I love it, I don't think I could ever smoke one. I would be afraid of chewing the shit out of that baby.

The stem feels great!
A briar stem is somewhat soft,

but very grippy.
My only other experience with a briar stem is a Genod and it ain't exactly refined in the bit area, being an oldtimey orific style, but I sanded it down a bit and it's really comfy for clenching and I've enjoyed it for the last 3 months or so --- you do hafta sorta be careful, but so far its been very stout and I don't see any problems with longevity.
Now,

Wayne's stem is a work of art, the bit fits my clench most perfectly in utmost comfort. Being pretty light at 35g helps too. He did a great job making the stem visually appealing to look at too, unlike the Genod which ain't really finely grained or anything.
Wayne knocked it outta the park in delivering the goody goods!

I've been kinda nutz over billiards lately,

funny I used to think they were totally boring,

but suddenly they *clicked* and now I love them,

smoking machines they are.
Is it possible to make a billiard with a conical bowl?

Anybody ever do that?
I still like dublins too and they often have conical bowls,

and a conical bowl serves my smoking style very well,

it'd be neat to have a billy witha cone bole!

That pipe is gorgeous, beautiful blast, great color and that briar stem is amazing. I have never heard of a stem being made of briar. If it is as soft as you say I bet I would love one. Do you have to worry about bite marks? I believe Wayne is on my very short list for my next pipe, I want to smoke a pipe with a Briar stem.
