I truly believe that our own Wayne Teipen is one of the most talented pipe makers working today. His work truly does vibrate with an aura of refined elegance and confident craftsmanship. And when you examine one of his pipes close up, it becomes evident that each aspect of that pipe has received Wayne's full and very deliberate attention.
I love bent apples and so, when I saw the one below for sale on Wayne's site, I had to buy it. For those of you looking to buy a high end pipe or to commission one, I urge you to check out Wayne's site: http://teipenpipes.com

No doubt.

Your summary is concisely correct.

The richness and depth he gets with his stains is amazingly warm and beautiful.

His shaping is always on point,

from solid traditional to freaky far-out,

he excels.
Congrats on the fine pipe,

enjoy it well!

misterlowercase, how are you enjoying your Teipen? Any issues with the briar stem - that idea still mesmerizes me.

Hey Tim, I love those shapes as well, and when I started in the hobby I was pretty much a strainght pipe guy. That said, if you ever smoke while working, a bent pipe becomes almost a necessity. They are also much easier to clench.

Man, no problems at all, I love it!
I can't believe it's mine LOL

I'm stoked.
Only about halfa dozen smokes so far but it's been sweet right off the bat.

I've read where people can supposedly taste a difference between lucite and vulcanite,

I can but it's very very slight,

but this briar stem adds a flavor all its own and carries a woodsy note.
I've got 2 more briar stemm'd pipes on the way from 2 different makers (Askwith & Evan Wiseman),

and I'll probably get Wayne to make me another at some point too!

:P
