Has it all - plateaux rim, bamboo shank and perfect straight grain.

Pardon my ignorance, but does a plateau rim mean the knobbly rim, as opposed to a smooth one? Cool pipe though, and it appears to be in Bradley's size: Group 47

Bradley, very cool looking pipe, love the bamboo on it. I owned a Spanu many years ago and it was a fine smoker, glad to hear you enjoy yours. Mike is great to deal with and will not sell a pipe to you if he does not think you will enjoy it. Once he gets a feel for your tastes he really can steer you into the right pipes. Congrats on your new pipe.

I know nothing about Spanu. I suppose I could look it up. But, I would like the Old Cajun to tell us what he knows about the pipe and how he can date it. What made you want to buy it? Have you others?
