Just received this Ukraine-made pipe from Golden Gate (bought on Ebay) -- beautiful pipe, smokes well so far, only $55, but it had a stinger in it! (Weird how Europeans, whom we usually think of as less up tight than us N. Americans, are making more pipes with filter devices.)

Thats some great grain it has!

As long as I got a pipe full of baccy and a nose full of snuff, I'm a happy camper

Nice pipe! Love the shape -- is that a rubber stem? Is it pre-carbed? If so, if it were mine, I'd scrub that out w/ Everclear. Let us know how she smokes

The stem is all lucite (the "wood" band is simply colored lucite). The pipe appeared to be lightly pre-carbed - but I put in a light coat of honey anyway, and the pipe smoked very well the first bowlful (especially since I had removed the cursed stinger). The bottom started to get alarmingly hot though, toward the end, so I backed off in a hurry. No apparent damage, though; all looks good. A really nice grain, and I love the shape, which was referred to as "squashed tomato."
